The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), in collaboration with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), is set to host the Regional Cyber drill for Africa region from May 8th to May 12th, 2023, at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe.
The ITU works towards enhancing countries’ cybersecurity readiness, protection, and incident response capabilities by organizing cyber drills at both regional and national levels. The ITU Regional Cyber drill serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it provides a platform for cooperation, information sharing, and discussions on current cybersecurity issues. Secondly, it provides practical exercises for National Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs) and security professionals.
