Malawi CERT Hosts a Cyberdrill at Mzuzu University

MACRA through Malawi Computer Emergency Response Team (MwCERT) is carrying out cyberdrills targeting northern region tertiary institutions. On Wednesday, Mzuzu University ICT students were empowered with knowledge on cyber security. 

Christopher Banda, Head of CERT, briefed the students on various cyber-related topics, delving deeper into the cyber world. He emphasized the importance of cyber security in today’s digital age.

Students have been learning about cyber-related incidents and how to protect themselves online. Banda highlighted that cyber security is a collective responsibility hence need for collaborative commitment to make the digital space safe for everyone.

The Mzuzu University administration commended MwCERT’s efforts to promote cyber security awareness, spreading awareness and promoting digital literacy.

University of Livingstonia’s Laws Campus in Rumphi is the next stop for the northern region cyberdrills tour.
