Media Influencers Trained on Good Cyber Hygiene

MACRA held a  Media Influencers workshop in Lilongwe, under the theme “Impact and responsibilities”

The MACRA Board Chairperson Dr. Stanley Khaila called on the media influencers to be responsible when posting online.

“MACRA is mandated through the Electronic Transactions and Cybersecurity Act to ensure that all users of ICT services are protected and this includes conducting such workshops to educate users on their responsibilities when using cyberspace,” he said.

Speaking at the function the MACRA DG Daud Elvin Suleman emphasized the potential Malawians have in utilizing the digital space for economic benefit.

“This is evident in the GMSA global index where Malawi has recorded a 10% performance improvement with a score index of 32.4 % in 2022 moving from 29% in 2021 towards adoption of mobile Internet” Suleman.

The workshop, had a keynote address from Robot_Boii a social media influencer from South Africa and has seen participation from various social media personalities and influencers
