The Malawi Computer Emergency Response Team (MwCERT) has conducted a cyber drill and cybersecurity awareness session at the National College of Information Technology (NACIT).
According to the Head of MwCERT, Christopher Banda, the exercise aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge of cyber threats and safe practices when using digital platforms.
“Students took part in practical activities and discussions with cybersecurity professionals on how to identify, prevent and respond to cyber incidents,” he said.
The exercise is part of MwCERT’s efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness and build cyber resilience among institutions and the public.
“We will continue working with institutions such as NACIT to strengthen cybersecurity preparedness in Malawi,” Banda said.
